Read moreIn May of 2018, I meet up with Sierra and Rob for another family session. This time just outside of our town on a gorgeous piece of freshly turned dirt. The site where they were going to build their dream home! In green Hunter boots the boys played with their construction toys in the freshly turned powder like dirt until they were completely covered in it.
Last month when I returned back to Washington for a visit, I finally got to see the incredible transformation and their gorgeous labor of love!

Melanie contacted us after a friend of hers booked a session with us and absolutely loved her maternity images.
Fast forward a couple of weeks and we find ourselves at the Kahala Resort just outside of bustling Waikiki for the sweetest family/maternity session and I was in love! The weather held off just long enough for us to capture a beautiful session with Melanie, Jason and Mason.
I mean seriously! How cute are they?!
Winter in Hawai’i. While that doesn’t mean snow on the islands, it does mean LOTS of rain.
Somedays you know it’s coming, other days it completely surrounds you without warning. That was the case for Phuong’s Ohana Session. Without warning we were running for cover only to be completely soaked before we could even make it.
To make up for the random downpour, we squeezed in a tiny morning session to before they left the island later.
A Hawaii Proposal Story.
During a large family session with Hoan’s ohana, I was secretly approached regarding my availability for a proposal session. Of course! I HAD to be available for this! How could I not be? His family was way to much fun not to be!
So the planning started and what a complete success! Sairrahe was so surprised!
Gah! What an honor to be able to capture this special moment!
There is no better way to describe this wedding other than the day we felt all the feels...
the love these two share was evident in every moment, every detail, the way they looked at each other... To witness their promise to protect each other's hearts, to love without fear and hesitation was absolutely beautiful. Let alone having the honor to capture their story in photos.... wow... just wow...
Anthony, you've got your girl Stephanie swept off her feet! The way you look at her when she isn't looking. The gentle smile that appears on your face or the way your eyes light up when you she's near. there is no doubt your love for her.
Stephanie, when you speak about Anthony, there's a change in your voice. There's a tenderness and emotion that no word can describe. The term Unconditional Love barely grazes what we've witnessed. The way you aren't afraid to be raw and let your hearts emotions just pour out. No matter who's watching.
Stephanie & Anthony, you two will always have a special place in our hearts. Thank you for letting us be a part of your journey. Most importantly, thank you for reminding us why we love what we do.

Oh mama! Babies babies babies!
It seems that this is the year for babies! I can't think of a better way to start "baby season" than with a dear friend and her sweet little bundle.
I met Kristi over 10 years ago when we were still in high school. Fast forward a few years & a few major life events and I find myself here once again... in the middle of something beautiful, straight out of a fairy tale.
Please help me welcome the cutest little bundle, Leighton Marie; born to the most wonderful parents anyone could ask for!

We had the absolute pleasure of capturing Ian + Deirdre's intimate Waikiki Beach Chapel Wedding in Honolulu, Hawai'i.
Deirdre + Ian tied the knot two weeks prior to Ian deploying for 10months but that didn't put any damper on their special day. They made sure to incorporate details that reflected their love for each other, their bond over Dr. Who and did so surrounded by people who absolutely adored them.
Their love was so evident as they exchanged vows with breathtaking views of Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon and Waikiki Beach behind them.
If there is any couple that deserves such a beautiful intimate wedding as this, it's Ian + Deidre. Their humor, their contagious smiles, and the way they looked at each other said it all. It's couples like this who make us fall in love with what we do all over again!!

A few years ago we had the pleasure of photographing Kristi and Anthony's wedding & what a treat! Fast forward a couple of years and as luck should have it, we were both on the islands at the same exact time! So they flew us over to the Big Island of Hawai'i for the day to witness & be a part of THIS special moment!
To be a part of this new chapter in this precious family's story is just so neat! It's been over 10 years since Kristi and I became friends. So right now,... I am just SSSSOOO happy for this amazing mama and her adorable family!
Brooklyn will soon be a big sister and this family will be that much cuter!
I met Stephanie last spring at a wedding we were both working. She, as the wedding coordinator/planner and myself, as the photographer. It was 102+ degree's outside and everyone was hot and miserable but this gal... so impressed! She was absolutely phenomenal and it was a pleasure to work beside her!
Fast forward a few months, and I get a text for a surprise sister session for their mom's birthday gift. An instant yes! We die for surprises and having previously met this amazing gal I knew it was going to be awesome and awesome it was!
We met with her equally awesome older sister Danielle for a top secret sister session down the road from their home and recreated childhood photos and had plain old fun. They even threw on their college T-Shirts for some shots for dad!
I could go on about how much fun we had and how I can't wait to do it again (all true I swear), but I only have so much room.
I kept in touch with Stephanie after the photoshoot and learned they collected their favorite images & made a special photo book for their dear mama. Too anxious to wait for mom's birthday, Danielle and Stephanie had a special evening and reveled their secret project to her. She bawled as expected and absolutely loved their photo book!
Guys, this is why we do what we do. This warm and fuzzy feeling we get when we know we've brought a slice of joy in this big world filled with chaos. When people are brought to tears or moved by a moment we've captured... This is why we love what we do
Miranda, Caleb & Ellie joined us for a sunset session and what a treat! Glad we got to capture all their fun and giggles!
Chasity and James knew exactly what they wanted when we discussed Chasity's maternity session. Needless to say, I was sold instantly..
So up the mountain we drove and the evening was perfect! A glowing sunset, a purple filled sky before dark and the perfect couple.
Shannon & Warran shared a small intimate backyard wedding with their closet family & friends. A true country wedding filled with sweet baby cows, and a John Deer Tractor!
Despite the 104+ degree weather and little shade, this wedding was absolutely beautiful.
The guest were treated to the couple's totally sweet celebration that included a relaxed atmosphere, culture traditions, even a piñata!
Miles's reaction when he saw his bride for the first time was the sweetest moment ever.
During their post ceremony session, Miles danced with his bride and very quietly sang his version of a song from the Lion King!

Nick & Cristal are getting married! They meet back in high school and have been together since! This fall, these two will be tying the knot at a gorgeous location and we can't wait to be a part of it! They are the cutest couple!
This sessions was so sweet to photograph! As a mama myself, I savor these organic moments. We just let life happen and what an adorable family to do it with. This location is where Sallee grew up so we wanted to capture these moments here. So we ran in the fields, ate bubbles and watched the sun set off in the distance.
